Mike Bolen came through in the clutch as his 2-run single in the top of the 7th inning gave Jerry’s a 6-5 lead in the championship game. Howard’s had two men on base in the bottom of the 7th, but pitching of Greg Fuhrman, combined with Jerry’s Defense sealed the deal and the World Series for Jerry’s Caterers. In that final game, Bruce Meade hit a 2 run homer for Jerry’s. Greg Fuhrman and Bill Meyer both had 2 hits. For Howard’s, Rick Scherr was the batting star as he had 2 hits, including a 2-run home run. Stan Harvey, Mike Cellura and Buddy Slater all had 2 hits as well.
