2014 ASA Women’s Open Slow Pitch Nationals

2014 held at Edmond, Oklahoma.

The Derby Girls beat Armed Forces 9-6 in winners bracket Finals, then the Armed Forces came back and beat Derby Girls 16-13 forcing the IF game. Derby Girls scored 11 runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings to finish off a 16-6 run rule victory to defeat Armed Forces in the Championship Game. Kim Pierce (10-16, .625, 10 Runs) and Tara Salcedo both went 4-5 (including 3 Doubles) in the game to lead the Derby Girls. Megan Marie (10-16, .625, 9 RBI, 6 Runs) and Amy Doerflinger (7-12, .583, 9 RBI) combined for 6 hits and 9 RBIs in the win. Christan Dowling of the Derby Girls, the most feared hitter in Women’s Sofball History was intentionally Walked 5 times in the game and scored 4 runs. Dowling finished the tournament 4 for 4 with 11 Intentional Walks. Her 4 hits included 2 singles, a triple and a Home Run. Kim Pierce (10-16, .625, 3 RBI and 10 Runs) also had a great tournament for the Derby Girls.Melissa Graves (14-22, .636, 9 RBI, 12 Runs) went 3-4 to lead the Armed Forces team. Christian Camp also had a tremendous tournament for the Armed Forces squad ( 10-16, . 625 4 RBI, and 10 Runs), and a home run for 5 RBIs total and 9 Runs scored
